December 15th Meeting

At this meeting we'll be making a "Space Shooter" video game.  We will be writing code to animate objects and make a scrolling shooter game.

November 10th Meeting

This week we'll be looking at another Scratch game called Hide and Seek.  We'll be adding a timer to the game that ends the round after a certain number of seconds.  Also, we'll be looking at how to make the game more challenging and add our own tweaks to it.

October 20th Meeting

This week we'll be looking at another game in scratch called "Apple Catch".  We'll be learning how to add a scoreboard and keep track of the lives the player has in the game.

First Meeting

• At our first meeting Thursday, September 22 in the Library we will be utilizing the Scratch programming tool to play, view, edit, and create our own games.

• Our Meeting Dates for the Fall & Winter are:

Coding Club -> Gaming Club

Our Coding Club has been renamed Gaming Club!  Our plan for this year includes:

• Learning how to program in basic computer languages by playing games
• Teaching other students how to write and read coding languages
• Anything that you, the student, want to show the group about video gaming or computer programming, or both!
• Playing, writing, and ENJOYING games!

Next Meeting: May 26th

At our next meeting, there will be options (as always!).  Bring your own ideas or coding related activities to share if you have any!

• Code Combat - continue from before
• Code Hunt - for those who want a challenge
• Code.org - hour of code games 
• Programming an Arduino circuit board - can you figure out how to make it work?
